Did I do thaaaaat?

It's done! I successfully completed a project! I first saw a tutorial for "lazy man's board and batten" on the web and swooned. I was in love, I wanted it in MY hallway. Problem was I had never done anything of this magnitude on my own. But, what the heck, what did I have to lose (other than hours of my time and the surface of the drywall in my hall)? It actually wasn't THAT bad.

Here is where we started. Blank slate.

Except for this spot where someone opened the wall to access the plumbing and closed it like this.

First step measure out the spacing.

Once I removed the wood this is what I found...wonderful!

Excuse my crappy non-professional patch job.

The step missing here, would be the hours and hours of painting boards, the lower half of the wall, changing out the light switches and spray painting the vent and door bell. (and yes, I did it all by myself!) Then it was time to hang the boards.

First time using liquid nails, that stuff is no joke!

Don't mean to toot my own horn but...I LOVE IT!

Please ignore the random flip flop, dog head and baby gate. This is how we live.
