Can I have a light?

Relax, I haven't taken up smoking. On a recent rainy, cold, windy day, Jack and I decided to tackle a project we had been wanting to do for a loooong time. We replaced the hideous light in our kitchen. We have replaced lights before but this monster was different. The electricity runs along the rail so putting the lights on was a bit of a challenge.

Here is what we started with. I forgot to take a "before" picture so the cover is that attractive piece of plastic leaning against the wall in the bottom picture.

The rail was wrapped in a circle so tightly in the package, it only wanted to stretch this far. Not sure how we could get a curve like the one on the box.

Four hours later we had this.
